1st Joint Meeting European Network of Forensic Handwriting Experts (ENFHEX) & European Fingerprint Working Group (EFP-WG)

The 1st Joint meeting of the European Network of Forensic Handwriting Experts (ENFHEX) & the European Fingerprint Working Group (EFP-WG) was successfully completed in Porto (Portugal) from 9 till 12 of September 2019.
The conference was attended by more than 180 experts, coming from institutions from allover Europe, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada and other countries.
During the conference the work oof our laboratory was presented:
1. In the presentation titled “The Standardization of contemporaneous notes via the use of forms: Applications in Fingermark and Handwriting Examination”, together with Megan Needham and Tomasz Dzidzic the manager of our laboratory Nikolaos Kalantzis presented our laboratory’s collaboration with Staffordshire University, IES Krakow, NCForences laboratory from Porto and Zeus laboratory from Prague regarding the standardization of note taking during forensic examination.
2. In the presentation titled “Digitally Captured Signatures vs. Paper Pen Signatures: Similar or Completely Different?”, together with Erich Kupfersmid from Kantonpolizei Zurich and Jonathan Heckeroth from Bundeskriminalamt Germany, the findings of the STEFA G8 research project dealing with Digitally Captured Signatures where presented.
3.In the workshop entitled “Present status of Forensic Handwriting Examination in Arab countries, and comparison of forensic examination of Arabic/Latin based script ” in collaboration with Dr. Ahmed Goher from Naif Arab University of Security Sciences of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The conference was a tremendous success and it became afield for exchanging opinions and meeting old colleagues and friends. Bravo to Maria Joao Branco & the organizers for such a beautiful conference!
